Investing in the future of aged care

Ericom partners with Whiddon’s scholarship program.

In the bustling world of healthcare, Ericom has partnered with Whiddon to foster the journey into the aged care industry for our deserving student, Jonti Libeau. The scholarship will support Jonti in completing her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Whiddon is not Jonti’s first step into the healthcare space. In 2019, she completed her Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Technology Sydney. Then, she took on the challenge of New Graduate Training at St George Hospital, where she witnessed firsthand the urgency of “accurate and timely care when the public needs it the most.”

Jonti chose her study based on one question: “How can I better support caregiving for individuals who need it the most?” Partnered with her current role as Senior Community Coordinator at Whiddon, she is combining her industry expertise and study to become a qualified vocational education trainer and assessor. The ripple effect extends beyond providing tailored training for future homecare employees, as it will also result in better caregiving for clients supported at home and in later years of life.

Jonti has expressed heartfelt gratitude for the scholarship and Ericom: “I would like to say thank you as it not only provides me with further knowledge but also benefits the staff at Whiddon, as well as Whiddon itself  – ensuring that we continue to deliver excellent care and help create exceptional impact for clients in the community.

As Ericom is passionate about empowering businesses, I would like to express the empowerment I feel in having the opportunity.”

Ericom has chosen to partner with Whiddon to support the rising age of the Australian population. With 15% of Australians being over 65 years old and around 30% of them living in regional, rural, or remote areas, Ericom are grateful for the care provided by Jonti and Whiddon, and for reflecting our values by improving local communities beyond our services.
