Ericom is proud to be sponsoring the Port Kembla Football Club, an icon of the Illawarra community.
With 7 Premierships, 9 Championships and 5 Bert Bampton Cup’s to its name, PKFC is the most successful club in the Illawarra region.
The club was founded in 1966 by Italian migrants in a café in Warrawong, and later evolved into one of the Illawarra Premier League’s most prolific clubs.
Based at Wetherall Park Primbee, the Zebras have a huge local following and some notable players and coaches including Socceroo legend Adrian Alston.
Semi-professional clubs like Port rely on sponsorship to stay afloat. Without it, the pool of promising talent in the Illawarra would lack the support they need to hone their skills and follow their dreams.
Ericom signing on as a sponsor this year was welcome news for club organisers. “It’s the support of local companies like Ericom that helps us do what we do as a club. We are very grateful to have them on board as sponsors,” said club president John Carusi.
While games are called off for now, the team is keeping busy with iso-training so they can get back on the field bigger and better than ever.
The many avid football fans in our midst can’t wait to attend some matches once restrictions lift and competition resumes.
